MONALE, ASTI

Monale is a small village in the hills of Asti. From a distance, immediately imposing castle overlooking the village. The first evidence of Monale castle dates back to 1161 even though what you see today was rebuilt in 1300.

The name derives from the Latin Mons Natalis (mountain home)
In the surrounding hills have been discovered numerous fossils, including shells, dating back to the Tertiary period. Interesting route to the nearby "Valley of the Gorge" where you can admire the typical "crutin"

The local cuisine features alongside the ancient recipes of Piedmont among them being the Bagna Cauda and a famous sweet pulls.

Another great chance to visit the hills of Asti and visit piedmont.

To know the most interesting and beautiful in the piedmont http://visitpiedmont.blogspot.com
