PIOVA' MASSAIA




PiovĂ  Massaia is a country located among Asti hills. 
The second part of the name is since 1940 in honour of Cardinal Massaia born in this country in 1809.



"The abundance of fossil shells, the discovery of a dolphin, a minke, a rhinoceros took place towards mid-1800, we give an idea of the environment and the climate of our region in those remote times ." traslated from wikipedia.






The most visible building of the country is the parish church of Saints Peter and George of Baroque architecture was built by Benedetto Alfieri between 1749 and the 1774. (photos)
 
The typical dishes of this area are:


- Bagna calda
- Agnolotti filled whith hare or donkey
- La finanziera
- Fritto misto alla piemontese
